Are you a Taipei-based student seeking to obtain the highest score possible on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)? If you are searching for the most effective and comprehensive TOEFL prep resources, look no further than the standardized test prep professionals at Manhattan Review. If English is not your first language or you are not a native English speaker, you will want to take advantage of every possible TOEFL prep resource to ensure you achieve the success you deserve on this potentially life-changing exam. When preparing for a test as important as the TOEFL, many students know they enjoy learning in the company of their peers, viewing others' questions or comments as insightful or even inspiring. Other students, however, know they do not perform to their full potential in a group setting. They worry about slowing the group down or holding them back because they need to work at a slower pace. Alternatively, these students may experience boredom or frustration once they have mastered a subject but cannot move on until the rest of the group has demonstrated similar mastery. If you know you learn best through one-on-one instruction customized to your individual learning needs, consider working with one of the dedicated and experienced private tutors at Manhattan Review.

Meet a Taipei TOEFL Tutor: Anika L.
Anika L. was born in Chennai, India, and lived there for the first thirteen years of her life until her father accepted a position with a tech company in San Francisco. Anika loved working with computers and during high school, she offered weekend coding classes to middle school-aged girls to improve their understanding of technology. After obtaining a stellar SAT score, Anika chose to attend the University of California at Los Angeles, where she majored in computer science and minored in English. After graduating from UCLA, Anika completed a master's degree in computer science, as well as a TESOL certificate, from the University of Southern California. She then accepted a position with an international non-profit organization focused on improving access to technology in underserved regions and spent the next few years traveling and living in Bali, Vietnam, and Sri Lanka before settling in Taipei.
Anika was delighted to learn about Manhattan Review's Taipei office and after she submitted an application for an open TOEFL instructor position, she was quickly welcomed to the team. Anika's students appreciate her extensive real-world experience almost as much as they appreciate her patience when helping them master the intricacies of the English language. When Anika isn't setting the next generation of college students up for their own successes, she can be found creating app-based programs to help people in remote areas learn English and going to the movies with friends.
